FOREO is not your traditional beauty company. They belong to a category all their own. The LUNA skincare devices have taken the industry by storm, becoming a premium facial care benchmark. They are not an electric toothbrush brand either, but ISSA signaled perhaps the biggest revolution in dental care for more than half a century. When something works, word spreads fast!

The Facts

In just six years Foreo has gone from two employees in it's Swedish headquarters in 2013, to over 3,000 beautiful people worldwide. In addition to that they've also shipped more than 20 million FOREO products in that time. The web trends are moving fast and Foreo needed a strong Drupal framework to build upon.

The solutions

For a serious skincare startup willing to sell products globally nedless to say the online experience has to be stable and effective. The time to upgrade from Wordpress to Drupal was a serious must. Drupal as a much more stable framework offers more flexibility when it comes to API development and its default caching features are more robust out of the box.

Visual Face Lift

Foreo needs to be different and that's a fact. The brand had a big need to be competing with the best brands in skincare and oral devices out there, but on their own terms. It was clear that a colorful lifestyle imagery and responsive layouts were needed for this to happen. Luckly Foreo was already on a good path being different. The products spoke for themselves in terms of design and feel so building brand awareness and design language around that wasn't making life difficult for us.

End product

As a Frontend lead developer and UI/UX Designer I had to carefully consider the Drupal platform possibilities and design interactions that were intended for the user experience. While the conversion rates spiked for 250% on holidays such as Black Friday and Chinese New Year the team knew the investment in the latest design and development trends paid off significantly. The recognition of the brand in a new life was more satisfying than anything we could hope for.
